There are 7 main chakras (energy vortexes) within the human body according to Hindu scriptures. The chakras are arranged along the spine starting with the Root (base of the spine) and ending with Crown (top of the head). Chakras serve as energy hubs for the flow of our life force.

Each chakra controls specific physical, mental or spiritual aspects of your life; our personal energy field connects to the vibrations and energies of our environment e.g. nature, people and animals. When a chakra is blocked or imbalanced it can cause a disconnection and can influence how we perceive our life.

Example: The root chakra represents our sense of security and when it is underactive or blocked, we might perceive life through a fearful state.
