Back & Belly Massage.

Massage Description

I think the belly is such an overlooked part of the body when it comes to massage. When I worked in massage salons, female clients would sometimes request a belly massage “if you have time to fit it in”, which is unfortunately the reality for therapists as they must be selective given the short time they have and deliver a memorable experience in more “attention-seeking” parts of the body like the back, neck and legs.

Therefore I was inspired by my clients to create a back and belly massage. It’s inspired by a Thai massage technique called the Hara massage, which focuses on the abdominal area as the body's energetic center to improve digestion, vitality, emotional balance and energy flow. We’ve all read how the belly is the “second brain”. So a happy belly is a happy brain! And one way to achieve a happy belly is to give it some physical TLC via a Hara Massage.

The first half of the massage will be a back massage (pressure of your choice) and the second-half will be focused purely on the abdomen. I’ll also use an essential oil like ginger, peppermint or chamomile to assist in soothing any symptoms.

This is a massage for women who

  • Get pre-menstrual cramps and seek relief.

  • Have mild digestion issues (this is not a replacement for medicine. Please see medical advice for any chronic issues).

  • Have trouble with constipation.

  • Feel tightness/bloating in their abdomen.

  • Feel like their solar plexus is blocked.
